Seismic Design for Steel & Prefab Buildings
Why foundations, load paths, connections and professional structural analysis matter more than the “prefab” label itself.

Prefab is not a seismic certificate
A lightweight building can reduce seismic mass, but safety still depends on geotechnical conditions, foundations, member sizes, bracing, diaphragms, connection ductility and a complete load path.
Connections are critical
Bolts, welds, plates, anchors and container-to-frame interfaces must be detailed and fabricated to approved structural drawings. Ad-hoc site modification can undermine the designed behavior.
Use professional analysis
For multi-storey and significant commercial structures, project engineers should perform the applicable analysis and code checks, document assumptions and coordinate architectural/MEP penetrations before fabrication.
